$idontliveinatent: How can someone support Tahno and Korra, or Amon and korra or anyone! and Korra? SHE’S CANON WITH ONLY MAKO OKAY! please allow me first to say this: shipping isn’t just who gets to go home with who, it’s all about the dynamics. every character reacts differently to others, Korra is a girly, careful person with Mako, a ‘pal’ with Bolin and a tough tomboy against Tahno etc, one could like all those sides of her, or only one. I personally like Korra the badass and think arguing with Tahno brings it out in a way other characters can’t. someone else might like the thought of Korra being in a dangerous romantic situation and achieve this by having her caught (or saved) by Amon, her enemy. I like a good argument, it’s entertaining to me (it’s actually a prominent aspect of every ship I’ve ever shipped since i became a sailor XD) i don’t instantly go for the danger and mystery of being with Amon but i might change my mind after a good fic or a convincing argument in it’s favor. so instead of dissing someone’s ship because it’s ‘not canon’ please discus with me why you like or dislike it, even if it doesn’t make me jump ship i might at least enjoy the conversation. and guess what? The Legend of Korra is an entertainment program. yeah it has emotional aspects and political aspects and things that reflect how real life is, but it’s all hidden messages the viewers are left to freely consider. also, the important thing is that we all chose to fangirl about this tv show on Tumblr (as opposed to LJ or facebook or other ‘serious’ sites) is that we know Tumblr people are lighthearted and the most understanding bunch online (I mean look at the Kpop fans, I’m not a part of them but they’re in love with a buncha guys\gals because they’ve seen their true selves backstage and on unscripted filmed events, even though those idols speak a different language, already have boyfriends/girlfriends or don’t know these fans exist on an individual level. they still love them and spaz about them and support them genuinely!) when someone’s kid is missing, boost signals are exploding everywhere, when a blogger writes about suicide, they get messages from anons telling them not to do it. when a silly meme is in, everyone jumps on the bandwagon because yolo. no one says this is going to be temporary so I’m gonna announce it to everybody so they can stop before it’s too mainstream! Tumblr are aware that fads only last so long, tv shows end, feels go dormant after a while and new feels are born anew. that’s the magic of it, we know there will be a next-best-thing eventually yet still insist on living through things to their fullest. i don’t understand the bloggers who insist on sinking other people’s ships (or closing up the docks altogether) they’re allowed to have their own opinions, of course, and post them to their blogs. So please understand that we basically love the same thing just from different angles, jumping ship or not 人（´・ω・｀＊） (please to ship and let ship) I’ve sent this to a tumblog but my tumblr was being a derp and not actually sending anything, i’m not sure if it reached so i repost （´・ω・｀） How can someone support Tahno and Korra, or Amon and korra or anyone! and Korra?
